Commercial estimator (full-time)

Flooring Superstores has an opening for a commercial flooring estimator.

Applicants for this estimator position should have a background in the construction and/or flooring industry and interior design. This position requires a working knowledge of equipment, (Disto) materials, labour methods and safety issues encountered in flooring. Applicants must be willing to work in a team environment and have good problem solving skills. Must be willing to travel throughout work area for site visits.

Qualifications:

  • A solid mathematical aptitude, good written/verbal communication skills is essential in this position. Knowledge of the construction and/or flooring industry and interior design is required.
  • The ability to work effectively with computer spreadsheets and programs is important.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Time management
  • Time flexibility (Shifts - days, nights and weekends required)
  • Blue print reading knowledge

Flooring Superstores Calgary is searching for a full time Sales Professional with a proven track record for exceeding sales targets, have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to quickly advance a sale. As our growing company is extremely fast paced we are also looking for a sales professional with strong organizational skills to ensure our customers are looked after quickly and professionally.

$55,000 annually, then commission after 3-6 month training period. First year earnings should exceed $70,000 - $100,000.

Position expectations include but are not limited to:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong computer skills (knowledge of Apple products, Excel and Google Docs an asset)
  • Time management
  • Strong and accurate communication skills both verbal and written
  • Time flexibility (Shifts - days, nights and weekends required)
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to our ever changing product line-ups
  • Previous knowledge of the flooring industry and competitors an asset
  • General housekeeping of sales area, staff room, retail areas and warehouse

Qualifications:

  • 5 – 10 years working experience in construction or trade industries or
  • 2 – 3 years flooring or home renovation sales experience is a MUST
