Usually one to several days, depending on the job.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We can move standard furniture. Remove personal items and breakables.
Does my existing flooring need to be removed?
It depends on the flooring and installation method.
Does the subfloor need preparation?
It must be flat, clean, dry and structurally sound.
What if the subfloor needs repairs?
Additional preparation and charges may apply.
How is hardwood installed?
It may be nailed, stapled, glued or floated.
Can hardwood be installed over concrete?
Some engineered hardwood can be installed over prepared concrete.
What temperature should the home be?
Maintain approximately 20°C (68°F).
What humidity is recommended?
Approximately 45%, or the manufacturer’s specified range.
Why are temperature and humidity important?
Changes can cause hardwood to expand, shrink or warp.
Who controls the indoor conditions?
The homeowner is responsible for maintaining proper conditions.
Should the heating system be running?
Yes. Normal indoor conditions must be established before installation.
How can I monitor humidity?
Use a digital hygrometer. We will supply with your hard wood kit.

Use a humidifier to increase humidity.

Use air conditioning or a dehumidifier.
Are seasonal gaps normal?
Yes. Small gaps may appear during dry winter months.

The flooring may shrink, gap or crack.
